Zenfone 2 Deluxe is a decent phone with a good design and capable of fitting your needs. Read the full review below .
We've been busy with some sort of 'works' lately , but we're back now .
Yes we know , its too late to review this device , but for those who were waiting for it , here are our views in form of a review .
It wasn't that long enough since the launch of Zenfone 2 , that Asus launched its another player in market , the Zenfone 2 Deluxe and that too at a mid range price tag of Rs.22,999 .
The device has almost similar specs as the earlier version except the design .
So lets talk about Design first .
DESIGN
Design is the area of expertise for Asus in this phone .
As it can be seen in the image , the back panel isnt just a ordinary plastic panel , rather "Ergonomic Arc design" . Its basically a 3D crystal like design which makes the phone looks good ( cant say gorgeous ) and yet different .
With it looks , some might say and ask about the feel in hand . Well as a matter of fact , it really feels good in hand and at same time a decent grip on phone .
So this was all about the back panel itself ! Now let us move on to other Design components .
The front is exactly as same the previous one , along with volume rocker buttons at back , the capacitive touch buttons on front and camera placement .
And the phone again lacks the backlight capacitive buttons , just like the previous one .
So , in design , nothing is changed except the back panel .
Well , if you're gonna buy one , buy the blue variant as it looks cool , how it can be purple and blue ( lol :P ) .
CAMERA
In today's era , almost all smartphones have much competitive camera with ability to click crisp and sometimes LARGE PIXEL images .
But , difference lies when it comes to Zenfone 2 Deluxe , its really able to take better images than other phones in its budget .
But the fact , not much improvements in camera itself , except that low light imaging is improved , so kudos to that !
The Zenfone 2 Deluxe is equipped with 13 MP rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture , made up of 5 element lens and a Real Tone Flash , it uses PixelMaster Technology ( don't care about it much !)
On the front you get a 5MP camera with a f/2.0 aperture as well , in layman's terms , you can click a group selfie much easily.
PERFORMANCE
Its powered by the Intel Atom Z3580 , intensively clocked at 2.3 Ghz , which is pretty good .
In case you aren't aware of , that's a Quad Core Processor , which is able to provide 4G support hence and a good performance .
And along with this , its equipped with a massive 4GB ram , which means , a good multi tasking with gaming is an easy task .( but its not ! Read below to know more )
We ran an AnTuTu Benchmark , and got a score of around 43.3k which is actually a decent score .
But does that mean we can do intensive gaming and multi tasking ?
Sorry to break your hopes , but its not so .
The Zenfone 2 Deluxe lacks efficient RAM management i.e. at most of time only about 1.3-2GB is free , so not much intensive multi tasking as it may sound like .
For good gaming experience its equipped with PowerVR G6430 GPU , which will handle all your graphic needs .
BATTERY and STORAGE
A low down and a deal breaker again , the Zenfone 2 Deluxe features a 3,000 mAh battery , which is infact quite low for a big 5.5 inch 'Android' Smartphone .
We are not saying that the battery performance is bad , its good actually .
And the same is enhanced by ability to be charged upto 60% in just 38 minutes , and we checked that ! So its a good deal , you can charge your phone pretty faster if you dont mind your phone being heated up .
You have a variety of power profiles to choose from : Performance (MAX) , Smart Saving , Ultra Saving etc whichever suites your needs.
Now coming to storage , Zenfone 2 Deluxe sports a 64 GB/128 GB in built memory . And out of 64 GB , only 52-54 GB is available to use rest is used up by system .
Well not only it features a good amount of in-built memory , it comes with a micro SD card support , supporting up to 128 GB .
Solves the problem of massive memory eaters , huh ?
THE VERDICT ( 4/5 Rating)
The only strength we see in Zenfone 2 Deluxe is its Design , inbuilt memory of 64GB at least and a decent camera .
Poor RAM Management , bloatwares , and lower capacity of Battery is a drawback .
In short , its actually a pretty balanced device , with looks , you get a average-good hardware in an ongoing and trending Phone Size .
Here are the Pros and Cons which you should consider before buying :
Pros : Decent Camera , Good Design , Internal Storage of 64GB with memory card support
Cons: Bloatwares (pre installed apps ) , low capacity Battery , Display
So if you are okay with above cons then you are good to buy it via Flipkart
