Dota 2 is an online multiplayer battle arena game and was officially announced on 13th of October,2010.
Dota 2 can be said a RTS game but its a mix of RTS and Role-Playing game, its a sequel to Defense of the Ancients mod for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its expansion pack, The Frozen Throne.

Dota is a competitive game of action and strategy, played both professionally and casually by millions of passionate fans worldwide. Players pick from a pool of over a hundred heroes, forming two teams of five players.~Steam

You particiapate in a match , choose a hero and then play with your 4 team mates against 5 , the game has items , mystical objects and much more . You can read more about it using google.
